TORONTO Canada -- Mombasa's Main Marikiti
Market -
A Heritage Icon formerly known as The Mackinnon Market -
has been horribly abused by our
politicians with their campaign posters.
For every poster defacing this monumental and historical
building, the politician who it depicts must be fined first, a
fixed sum per poster regardless of who plastered them.
Then he should be forced to personally go up the walls to
clean the mess.
When everything is said and done ...collectively, all the
culprits involved in this senseless act must proportionally pay
their share to spruce up the exterior of this market with the
most expensive exterior paint available in the market.
Anyone disagreeing with this exercise must resign his seat if
he has one or then he must be 'banned for life' from standing for
any public office anywhere in the country.
I recall those days when the Coastal Admin Authorities under
the PC forced businesses located on the main thoroughfares in
Mombasa to paint their premises before the annual 'working
holiday' visit to Mombasa by Mzee Kenyatta.
When shall we Kenyans ever learn to respect, protect and look
after our own 'mazingira' ...natural as well as man made.
