As photographed by Wildlife Photographer and Kenya Wildlife Service Honorary Game Warden Shazaad Kasmani, an elephant appears to be walking on snow covered grasslands on Christmas Eve at the Tsavo East National Park. Using a specially converted infrared camera to capture light which is invisible to human eyes, the snowy effect on the grass and trees in the background, is a result of the reflection of infrared light by plants during photosynthesis. Some animals which are believed to see in the invisible infrared range, could quite possibly be seeing the world as it is in this photograph.
