NAIROBI -- Kanbis Sports Club won the finals of the 14th. Edition of Shree Cutchi Leva Patel Samaj Six A Side Cricket Tournament under the Banners of Nairobi Provincial Cricket Tournament while Ngara Sports Club emerged as the winners of the Plate Event on saturday at the Samaj Cricket Ground on saturday afternoon, writes SUBHASH MODI.

The main tournament which was participated by 20 teams, including a team from Mombasa was sponsored by Tile & Carpet and Dura Coat (Ask the Experts) while the junior tournament which was played earlier was sponsored by Ndovu Cement.

The Finals were officiated by Kenya Umpires Isaac Oyieko,Shanti Patel and Subhash Modi while the Scorers were Brenda Mogosu and Lydiah Kaparo.

Brief Results:-

In the Plate Finals, Samaj Cutchi School won the toss and put Ngara into bat first. Ngara scored 52 for the loss of 4 wickets in 5 overs.

(Manthan Joshi 15 and Kishan Patel 10). Pankaj Bhudia 1/9.

In reply Samaj Cutchi managed to score 41 for the loss of 3 wickets in 5 overs.

(Harshit Vekaria 17, Rohan Kerai 10) Shubh Patel 1/1. Ngara Sports Club won by 11 runs.

In the Finals of the Main Event, Kanbis who won the toss elected to bat first against SCLPS and put up a big total of 89 runs in 5 overs thanks to the entertaining knocks of Nelson Odhiambo 18, Rakep Patel 18 and Dhiren Gondaria 17. Arpit Bhatewara 1/15.

In reply, SCLPS scored 45 for the loss of 3 wickets in 5 overs.

(Arpit Bhatewara 17, Nelson Odhiambo 2/10 and Sachin Bhudia 1/7).

Kanbis won by 44 runs.

After the Match, Rajesh Bhudia tactful captain of Kanbis Sports Club said he was delighted with his team's brilliant performance as they played very hard and as a team throughout the tournament.

He was proud to say that his magnificent team has won 12 times out of 14 outings and he wants to see with the support of his team management that the upcoming youngsters get good exposures and much needed exposures.

Kanbis Sports Club which is one of the best and the finest teams in East Africa are always keen on encouraging younger generation as they are the future stars of the club and the country.

Both the founders of the Tournament namely Lalji Bhudia and Shanti Patel praised the continued support of the Sponsors and gave due credit to the organizing team for good work towards the success of the tournament.

They were also pleased to see the tournament was played in good spirit.
