Two Tsavo giraffe
are drinking water
under a full moon

Photo taken on April 19, 2019 shows two giraffe under a full moon in Tsavo National Park in Kenya.

Giraffe are one of the most iconic and easily recognisable mammal species in Africa.

According to the popular Kenya Giraffe Conservation Guide they have several local names in Kenya:

twiga (Swahili), ekorii (Ateso), kanyiet (Elgon), ndûiga (Gikuyu), tiga (Kalenjin and Luo), ndwiya (Kamba), etiika (Luhya), oloodo-kirragata or olchangito-oodo (Maasai), lenywa (Meru), and iment (Samburu).
