NAIROBI (Xinhua) --
Kenya will host the fifth Africa Coaches’ High Performance
training, which brings over 30 tacticians to Nairobi from March
2 to 4.The course, which will be organized by African
Volleyball Confederation (CAVB), is part of the strategic plan
by the continental governing body to upgrade African coaches
with the latest information and trends in team management ahead
of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
CAVB President Amr Elwani said the continent is lack behind
in latest technology and coaching trends and needs to upgrade if
the Africa teams have to compete favorably at the Olympics and
World Championships.
"The seminar is a platform to receive the latest coaching
methodologies and systems as well as contemporary approaches to
achieve best performance for high level competitions," said
Elwani on Monday.
The course will be instructed by Mauro Berruto of Italy and
directed by Sherif El Shemerly, who is president of the CAVB
Coaches Commission.
"It is also a networking platform for all the top coaches on
the continent to interact among themselves and receive knowledge
from vastly experienced expert coaches," said Elwani.
