Shreya Ghoshal (born 12 March 1984) is an Indian playback singer. She has received four National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards and nine Filmfare Awards South (one for Telugu, two for Kannada, two for Tamil and four for Malayalam) to date. Bollywood songstress Shreya Ghoshal is scheduled for what will definitely be a sold out performance at the Diamond Plaza 2 on 27th October, as a pre-Diwali celebration.

Last seen here four years ago, Shreya who started her singing career in Bollywood at the age of 16 is the winner of four National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards including five for Best Female Playback Singer, nine Filmfare Awards South, three Kerala State Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards among other numerous awards.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali launched her in his film Devdas, when she was spotted at the children’s episode of the television reality singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.

After that this Bengali beauty has not looked back and has gone from strength to strength ruling the musical industry with one hit after another. She flows easily from classical to modern to seductive giving her voice to a huge range of singing.

Her voice has been described as “sweet” with “slight huskiness”.

When I saw her live performance four years ago, I was totally wowed by her stage presence and performance.

Governor Ted Strickland of the U.S. state of Ohio has declared 26th June as ‘Shreya Ghoshal Day’.

In 2012, she appeared in the Forbes Celebrity 100, a list based on income and popularity of India’s celebrities and remained in the top fifty spots for five consecutive years.

Forbes India placed her in their “Top 5 Celeb100 Singers and Musicians” list in 2013 and she is the only Indian singer to include in the list of Verve’s 50 Power Women Of 2016.
