Zambia  Immigration authorities turn back
Kenyan professor Patrick Lumumba

LUSAKA Zambia (Xinhua) -- Immigration authorities in Zambia on Saturday turned back a renowned professor from Kenya who was scheduled to attend a public forum organized by a private university.

Patrick Lumumba, a law professor, was turned back at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, the Zambian capital, when he arrived around noon.

Chief Government Spokesperson Dora Siliya confirmed the development on her Twitter account, saying he was denied entry due to security considerations.

“Immigration is a security wing working within and outside Zambia,” she said.

Lumumba was put in another plane headed for Kenya.
