Kenyan police offers cash reward for arrest of three terror suspects

NAIROBI (Xinhua) -- Kenyan police on Wednesday offered 30,000 U.S. dollars bounty for any information that will lead to the arrest of three terror suspects.

Police spokesman Charles Owino who issued the security alert also circulated photos of Mumina Eroba, Abdiwahab Osman Ahmed and Ahmed Dabar whom he said are planning to stage attacks during the holy month of Ramadhan.

“In particular, a group of terrorists led by one Ibrahim Mohammed alias Shariff Lin Kulul, has been hiding in the mountainous region of Gedo within Somalia and may be planning to stage attacks on the Kenyan side,” Owino said in a statement.

He said Kulul has in the past sent Debar to look for targets to attack in Mandera and Wajir counties in northeast Kenya including government employees, warning that others are trying to cross over to Kenya and stage attacks.

Owino said Dabar was a Madrasa student before joining al-Shabab. He was also involved in the February attacks on teachers at a school in Wajir.

He urged all Kenyans to exercise caution especially around public institutions and public gatherings and report any suspicious individuals to the police.

“We equally wish to reassure the public that the police have enhanced security measures across the country during this season and are closing in on the militants,” said Owino.
