Charles Mwashengu’s Hat-Trick Leads ‘Kilifi All Stars’ To Victory

Coastweek -- Visiting Kilifi All Stars collected four points from their tour of Taita Taveta County following two league matches.

Kilifi All Stars defeated Taveta Sisal 2-3  during their first match played at Taveta primary, thanks to a hat-trick by Charles Mwashengu.

Mwashengu sent the visitors into celebrations at quarter an hour’s mark but Simon Ndoro fought back for Taveta Sisal three minutes later.

Hussein Micho stretched lead for the hosts five minutes to break. Kilifi All Stars came back a rejuvenated side and restored parity through Mwashengu three minutes after resumption.

The visitors had the last laugh when Mwashengu netted the winning goal at an hour’s mark and bringing his goals tally to four goals in the league.

Meanwhile, Kilifi All Stars came from behind to share 2-2 spoils with newbies Taita Taveta All Stars during their second match of the tour played at Wundanyi Stadium.

Lucky Kaingu shocked the hosts when he netted the opener for Kilifi in the 31st minute but Khalid Aziz cut the celebrations short *two minutes later.

Charles Onyango stretched lead for the Taita Taveta in the 43rd minute.

Twalib Kombo leveled the score five minutes to time to salvage a point for the visitors.

After playing four matches, Kilifi All Stars are placed third position on the 19-team FKF Division Two Northern Zone Pool A log with seven points on level with Taita Taveta All Stars but with inferior goal difference.

Nyota bounced back to shine over Sandoki United following a 2-5 triumph in the FKF Division Two Northern Zone League Pool A match played at Kwa Ndomo ground in Malindi.

Smarting from a 0-1 home loss to Breeze Ham, Nyota drew the first blood in the 17th minute through Thomas Mwamuye.

George Mwabanza doubled the lead in the 34th minute and Amir Imran stretched lead two minutes later for a 3-0 lead at breather.

Sandoki United returned a rejuvenated side after a pep talk by their coach at breather and fought back through Joseph Dzombo in the 60th minute.

The hosts further reduced the arrears through a penalty converted by George Ngonyo in the 79th minute which was awarded following an infringement inside the box.

Nyota bounced back and extended lead through Abuu Mohammed in the 80th minute and Thomas Mwamuye sealed victory four minutes to time.
