FKF Division One League Matches

Coastweek -- Changamwe United condemned Commercial FC from Thika with a 3-1 spanking during the FKF Division One League match played at Changamwe Estate ground.

Peter Okello put Changamwe United into an early lead in the third minute.

The visitors hauled themselves off the canvass and took the game to their opponents, equalising in the 25th minute through Francis Omondi for a one-all draw at breather.

Philip Otieno restored lead for the hosts in the 74th minute while Peter Okello completed a brace in the stoppage time through a spectacular free kick that let the goalkeeper napping.

After playing three matches, Changamwe United have a total of seven points from three matches.

They started the league with a one all draw against Mwatate United followed by a walk-over against KenGen Olkario.

Changamwe United tour Nairobi and take on Liberty Sports Academy tomorrow in a double header at Camp Toyoyo kick off at 3 p.m.

The match will be preceded by a tie between Ligi Ndogo and Vegpro that kick off at 1 p.m.

Meanwhile, Modern Coast Rangers suffered a set-back after they lost 0-1 to Administration Police in the second tie FKF National Super Leage match played at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club.

Rangers who drubbed Ushuru 3-1 in their previous outing took the field as pre-match favorites but defensive blunder cost them three vital points.

After a deadlocked in the first half, Kelvin Osumba scored the all-important goal three minutes after an hour’s mark.

Rangers’ custodian Ryan Hamisi was the man of the man as he saved several goal bound shots from goal hungry Police strikers.

After playing seven matches, Rangers maintained their third position in the 19-teams NSL log with 11 points, one point behind table toppers GFC 105.  Rangers travel to Awendo to face newbies Isibania in their next match today.

The second Tier FKF Division One League match between Fresha and Coast Stima failed to take off at Githunguri Stadium after the venue was unavailable because it was used to host  a political rally by Jubilee Party.

Coast Stima technical Director, Yahya Hussein revealed his side expects to be awarded the match points because it was the responsibility of the home team to find an alternative venue.

“The league rules and regulations are very clear regarding the match venues.

“In the event the match venue is not available the onus is on the hosts to find an alternative venue and communicate the change to the national office within 72 hours.

“However this was not done and therefore Fresha should forfeit the match,” said Yahya.

Yahya reiterated he had confirmed with the national office and his team expects nothing less than three points.

The FKF league and completions committee will officially give a decision on the matter.

After their first match against Fortune Sacco was postponed, Coast Stima went on to beat Strathmore University 3-0.

Should Coast Stima be awarded the match they will have six points from two matches.
