NAIROBI (Xinhua) -- Turnover
at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) on Thursday rose to 7.1 million U.S.
dollars from the previous session’s 3.4 million boosted by local investors.
investors’ participation stood at 54 percent from 25 percent on Wednesday while
foreign investors input shrunk to 46 percent from 75 percent.
Commercial Bank (KCB) was the day’s biggest mover with 14 million shares
changing hands at 0.34 dollars.
and Kengen, in the energy sector, came in second and third after moving actively
8 million shares valued at 0.12 dollars and 4.3 million shares at 0.06 dollars
The NSE 20
Share Index was up 0.07 points to stand at 3,101.19 while the All Share Index (NASI)
ended 1.31 points higher to stand 132.63. On the other hand, the NSE 25 Share
Index gained 34.25 points to stand at 3,524.12.
market witnessed reduced activity with bonds worth 15 million dollars transacted
compared to 25 million posted the previous session.
