-- Nepal on Monday secured victory over
Kenya by seven wickets in the second match of the ICC World Cricket
In the match held at the Tribhuvan
University Stadium here in the capital city, Nepal chased the target
of 156 runs set by Kenya in 30.2 overs at the cost of three wickets.
Elected to field first after winning the toss, Nepal had bowled
Kenya all out at 155 runs in 46.1 overs.
Stand-in captain Gyanendra Malla scored the highest for team
Nepal with 64 runs followed by Dipendra Singh Airee's 62 runs.
Nepali skipper Paras Khadka, the powerful player of team, missed the
game owing to health constraints.
Host Nepal had lost against Kenya in the rain-interrupted match
by 5 wickets in the same ground on Saturday.
The World Cricket League Championship is the gateway to the
50-over World Cup 2019 with top tour teams to earn berths for the
Qualifiers in 2018.
Nepal currently stands sixth with six points from nine matches
while Kenya is one spot ahead of Nepal with 12 points playing equal
number of matches.
Despite of Monday's win, Nepal needs to depend on the outcome of
other teams in the remaining five matches of the tournament to
remain in contention for the Qualifiers.
