COTONOU Benin (Xinhua) --
Benin and Rwanda authorities on Saturday formally
inaugurated here a flight service that will connect Benin’s
economic capital Cotonou with Rwanda’s capital Kigali.
“Through this quite
simple ceremony, we have officially launched the flight that
from now onward links the capitals of our two countries”, Jean
Paul Nyirubutama, CEO of the Rwanda airline company RwandAir,
airline RwandAir will serve three times per week, with stopovers
in Douala in Cameroon and Libreville in Gabon,” he said.
The air service
between Cotonou and Kigali is the result of a bilateral
agreement reached on March 23 this year by the two countries.
Jean Paul Nyirubutama believes the air service will strengthen
ties between Benin and Rwanda peoples as well as enhance the
economic exchanges between the two countries.
